rustic coastal

Bexhill

The Brief & Solution

This project was a great creative opportunity. Our client envisioned a completely bespoke garden sanctuary inspired by the rugged charm of the Sussex coastline, incorporating salvaged materials and hidden gems typical of the seaside landscape.

At the heart of the design was creative repurposing. We transformed a heavy vintage safe into a striking water-releasing sculpture that serves as an unexpected focal point, while authentic coastal rope and weathered driftwood were integrated throughout to add organic depth. Reclaimed clay pig cylinders were also repurposed as structural architectural elements, infusing the space with historic texture and character.

A carefully curated palette of resilient coastal planting binds these distinct elements together, establishing a fluid, harmonious journey from one end of the long plot to the other. The result is a deeply atmospheric, cohesive outdoor space filled with charm, intrigue, and discovery around every corner.
